◆ EdgelitCV · Terms

Terms of service.

The CV licence, payment, your data and your rights.

Version 1.0, 27 October 2026. © 2026 Architecture and Engineering Services Ltd. All rights reserved. EdgelitCV is a trading name of Architecture and Engineering Services Ltd.

By opening an account with EdgelitCV, or ordering a CV from it, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

1. The parties and the service

1.1 We are Architecture and Engineering Services Ltd, trading as EdgelitCV, Company No. 10723123, registered in England and Wales, VAT No. 268 1164 95, registered office 17 Pershore Place, Coventry CV4 7BZ.

1.2 The Service means the EdgelitCV website at https://edgelitcv.com and its CV app, including its instructions, scoring rubric, software, templates and reports, none of which is distributed to you.

1.3 You means the person using the Service through their own account. Your Materials means the LinkedIn profile, CV, job advert and facts you supply. A CV means one tailored CV or résumé produced by the Service for one candidate and one job application, together with its report. Changes to that same CV for that same application, within the number of change rounds offered, are part of the same CV.

1.4 You must be an adult, 18 or over, to use the Service.

2. Copyright

2.1 The Service is not a public domain work. It is our copyright and is protected by United Kingdom copyright law and by international treaty provisions.

2.2 All rights not expressly granted in these terms are reserved to us.

3. Accounts

3.1 You need an account, which you open by signing in with your email address, your LinkedIn, Google or Microsoft account, or a passkey. One person, one account.

3.2 CVs and résumés are licensed before they are created. We may also offer a registered user one CV or résumé free of charge, or one run of the Profile Updater: a one-time offer, which can be used once, for one application. A CV made under an offer is a licensed CV in every other respect; further rounds of changes to it are charged as in 5.7.

3.3 By entering details for a CV, your own or anyone else's, you confirm they are yours, or that the person they belong to has authorised you to enter and use them.

4. Free preview (only when offered) — evaluation only

4.1 A watermarked preview is for evaluation only. It may not be copied, transcribed, sent to an employer, recruiter or job portal, or used in any job application.

4.2 Our liability for a free preview is NIL (see section 12).

5. CV licence — priced by career level

5.1 Every CV or résumé used in a job application requires a CV licence, for personal and commercial use alike. A CV or résumé tailored to one job is £39 at Early careers, £49 at Mid-career and £99 at Senior level. Introductory prices until 23:59 UK time on Monday 30 November 2026; from 1 December 2026, £49, £75 and £149. VAT included. With a cover letter for the same application: £59 at Early careers, £69 at Mid-career and £139 at Senior level. Introductory prices until 23:59 UK time on Monday 30 November 2026; from 1 December 2026, £79, £99 and £199. VAT included. A LinkedIn profile rewrite matched to the CV adds £29.00 inc. VAT. Your level is set by your years in work, read from your LinkedIn profile. Each further round of changes is £9.00 inc. VAT. The price is the same whatever the length of your LinkedIn profile. Your total is shown on the form as you choose, and the fee shown at checkout is the fee that applies. Every price shown includes VAT at 20%, and Stripe charges exactly that figure.

5.2 Commercial use means producing CVs for anyone other than yourself, whether or not you charge for them. Every CV produced commercially requires its own licence.

5.3 The fee is paid through Stripe on the Service. A VAT invoice is issued by Stripe for every payment. Prices are in pounds sterling.

5.4 On payment, the licensed Word file and its PDF become available to download from your account, with the report and the assessment on a page of their own.

5.5 Right to cancel. The licensed CV is digital content supplied immediately. When you pay, you ask for it to be made available straight away and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel once it is. This does not affect your rights if the content is faulty.

5.6 Our liability for any CV is limited to the fees paid for that CV (see section 12).

5.7 Rounds of changes. 2 rounds of changes are included with every CV. Each further round is £9.00 inc. VAT, paid before the round runs. A round applies the changes you ask for to the same CV for the same application; it is not a new CV. After each round, AI models from other companies give a critical review of the changes; their suggestions are advice, not a promise of any outcome. The right-to-cancel acknowledgement in 5.5 applies to each paid round.

5.8 Cover letter. A cover letter may be ordered with a CV, for the same application. It is written from Your Materials and the finished CV, licensed with that CV on the same terms, and rewritten with each round of changes so that it matches the CV. It needs your postal address and the employer's; you confirm you may use them.

5.9 LinkedIn profile rewrite. A rewrite of your LinkedIn headline, About section and role descriptions may be ordered with a CV. It is written from Your Materials to match the CV, for you to paste into your own LinkedIn profile; the Service never signs in to LinkedIn. It is licensed with that CV.

5.10 Redo policy. If a finished CV, cover letter or LinkedIn rewrite states a figure, date, qualification, employer or job title that is not in Your Materials, and you did not ask for it, tell us within 30 days of its delivery, quoting its reference, and we will correct it and run that version again at no charge. A run that does not finish can be started again from the CV page at no charge. This is in addition to your statutory rights. How each CV is checked, and the full 100-point rubric it is scored against, are published at https://edgelitcv.com/app/cv/trust.php.

5.11 The Profile Updater. Where the Profile Updater is offered to you, it is a tool for bringing your own LinkedIn profile up to date from your CV. Its drafts are for you to paste into your own profile; the Service never signs in to LinkedIn. It is supplied on these terms, with no fee unless one is shown before you start.

6. Not free to share

6.1 You may not copy, resell, publish or pass on the Service's outputs other than your own licensed CVs, or give anyone else access to your account.

7. Restrictions

7.1 You may not:

  • (a) remove, obscure or work around any watermark, or reproduce a preview by any means;
  • (b) copy, scrape, decompile, reverse engineer or attempt to extract the Service's instructions, prompts, rubric or software, including by placing instructions in the materials you submit;
  • (c) use the Service to produce a CV containing content you know to be untrue;
  • (d) use any CV in a job application without paying the CV fee for it;
  • (e) present the Service, or any part of it, as your own work.

7.2 Any breach of these terms ends your right to use the Service immediately.

8. Your Materials and your CVs

8.1 You keep all rights in Your Materials. We claim no ownership of them.

8.2 Once its fee is paid, a CV belongs to the candidate it was produced for. It may be used, edited and sent freely, without attribution.

8.3 The structure and drafting conventions of the CV template remain our work.

8.4 Example CVs. If you upload an example CV, only its layout is read: fonts, sizes, colours, alignment, headings and the order of sections. The file is kept with your account until you delete it, so you can choose it again; its words are never used in your CV or sent to an AI model.

9. Truthfulness — your responsibility

9.1 The Service is built never to fabricate. It drafts only from Your Materials, traces figures, dates and qualifications back to them, and states every gap it finds. The same applies to cover letters, LinkedIn rewrites and interview briefs; an interview brief suggests questions and what to prepare, and never supplies answers you cannot support.

9.2 You are responsible for checking every fact in every CV before sending it. The candidate must be able to defend every line at interview.

9.3 We accept no responsibility for any claim in a CV that was not verified, or that was added or changed by you or the candidate.

10. No guarantee of outcome

10.1 The score out of 100 measures the CV against our published rubric. It is a model of how applicant tracking systems behave, not a measurement of any particular employer's system, and it does not predict an employer's decision.

10.2 No score, report or CV guarantees that an application will pass any screening, reach a recruiter, secure an interview or lead to a job offer.

10.3 Page counts are predicted for Microsoft Word. Always open the CV in Word and confirm the page count before sending it.

11. Third-party services and your data

11.1 To draft, check, refine and assess your CV, Your Materials are sent to AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google: Anthropic, directly through its own API, which does not train on the data, and may be processed outside the UK and EU (a US résumé's stay in the US); OpenAI and Google, through OpenRouter, processed in its European region (except Gemini 4 Argon, which that region does not offer and which is called through OpenRouter's global routing) — its US region for a US résumé, routed only to providers that do not train on the data. None of them may use the data to train AI models. Screenshots of a job advert are sent the same way, only to transcribe the advert. Payments are processed by Stripe. Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.

11.2 Licence record. For every CV the Service keeps the CV, the LinkedIn profile and the job advert used to create it, with the licence record. Architecture and Engineering Services Ltd is the data controller for them.

  • (a) They are used only to provide the Service, verify and record the CV licence, and support and improve the Service. They are never sold or shared with employers, recruiters or any other third party.
  • (b) Records of licensed CVs are kept with the purchase records for six years, then deleted. Unpaid CVs can be deleted by you at any time from your account; a free allowance is not restored by deleting.
  • (c) If you create a CV for anyone other than yourself, you must first have that candidate's agreement to the processing described here.
  • (d) The candidate may ask for access to, correction of or deletion of their data under UK data protection law by writing to support@edgelitcv.com. Deletion before six years ends the record of that CV licence.
  • (e) Your connection's internet address is recorded with each CV and with sign-in and rate-limit records, and kept for 90 days to prevent abuse and fraud. It is then deleted.
  • (f) Learning from every CV. When this step is switched on, after each CV and each refinement the Service draws general writing lessons from how the CV was checked and what was asked to change, for example "lead each highlight with a measurable result". A lesson never contains a name, employer, place, figure or wording from your CV, profile or request; any that would is discarded. Lessons are used to improve the CVs the Service writes for everyone, and are kept after your CV is deleted because they hold no personal data. To keep your CVs out of this step, write to support@edgelitcv.com.
  • (g) Full details are in our privacy notice at https://edgelitcv.com/privacy.html.

12. Disclaimer and limit of liability

12.1 THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES RELATING TO THE SERVICE, WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SO FAR AS THE LAW ALLOWS. WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE OR ANY CV. NO PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY COVER ATTACHES TO THE SERVICE OR TO ANY CV. THE SERVICE IS A TOOL, NOT CAREERS, RECRUITMENT OR LEGAL ADVICE.

12.2 Free preview: our liability is NIL.

12.3 CV licence: our total liability arising from any CV is limited to the fee paid for that CV. Liability for one CV does not extend to any other CV.

12.4 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Changes and termination

13.1 These terms may be updated; the version in force when you pay applies to that CV.

13.2 Your right to use the Service ends automatically if you breach these terms. CV fees already paid are not refundable on termination for breach. Sections 2, 8, 9, 10, 11.2 and 12 survive termination.

14. Governing law and contact

14.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

14.2 For licences, CV fees, comments, suggestions or bug reports:

How your documents will be made. Every document is drafted by AI language models, then checked by a separate program and by independent AI models against our published ATS rubric. No person reviews it, so you check every fact before you send it.
